What a honor to be invited to “Choreograph” a Kitchen space for my professional dance instructors! The original kitchen finishes were outdated and functionally “out of step” with their taste and lifestyle. Flow, preparation, cooking and serving was certainly missing. The challenge was to transform this space into a beautiful, seamless, functional cooking area with up to date appliances and interesting finishes.
We opened a wall between the dining room and kitchen to combine these two spaces and bring in a beautiful view of the Hudson Valley.
We chose a contemporary feeling with a gray “structure” base cabinets and a painted “grayge” wall cabinets. We married the two colors with a Porcelanosa tile which gave the kitchen interest and a playfulness. The appliances are stainless steel with a stainless steel toe kick to tie it all together. In keeping with the contemporary look, the countertop we chose was a sleek but warm Caesarstone.
My clients love their new space and as they told me “do a little dance” while cooking and entertaining!
